Snakes : Surface design 2

For this surface design, I decided to try something new. I made a motif image from the photo that is not related to the snake theme directly and arranged it into the snake skin form. I used the photo that I took myself from the Grand Central Terminal, New York.

This is the motif image that I made and several versions of it.

Repeats.

Another repeats. I arranged the motif so it can form the snake skin pattern. Click the image to see it in larger size.

Final surface design in two colorways.

Snakes : Surface design 1

For the first surface design, I chose the painting "Water Serpent I" by Gustav Klimt and photoshoped the painting. Then I repeated and rearranged the fixed image into the snake skin pattern.

I tried different colors and repeats. Click the image to see it in larger size.

Final surface designs in two colorways. It is a non-repeat design, but still has little sense of repeat just like a real snake skin. There are also groups of small circles that is inspired by snake scales.
